If you haven’t heard me talk about the Roc Solid Foundation yet, they are an organization who does some pretty outstanding things to help bring hope to kids fighting cancer and comfort to their families. I am extremely lucky to have found such a great group to work with and will continue to do whatever they need to help spread the message about this cause…which brings me to this blog and this weekend’s coming event, the Night for the Fight.
When we first started the planning process, the only concrete fact we knew was that the event would be held at Chrysler Hall (ahh!!).
We thought “how AWESOME would it be if the kids could put on a play on stage?!” and immediately set plans in motion to work with the Hurrah Players. The play that was decided on was Disney’s Peter Pan…a story about a boy who never grew up and who lives a magical life, which is pretty symbolic because children with cancer haven’t really had a normal childhood or the chance to just be a kid…i’m hoping the acting experience brings tons of smiles and laughter from these little ones!!
Once the play was decided, all the creative aspects started flowing. The event graphics were designed by Sway Creative Labs with a ‘rustic dreamy’ feel that meshes perfectly with the storyline of Peter Pan.
We wanted to continue that ‘rustic dreamy’ feeling throughout the other aspects of the decor, so I came up with this inspiration board that we’ve used religiously for all design decisions. I personally cannot wait to see what HollyDays Floral Designs final product looks like!! No doubt it will be amazing and you can expect lots of rustic details and sparkling lights!!
The night will include a cocktail hour in the lobby, a short play put on by the kids, a seated dinner by Gourmet Gang Catering, a live auction with some AWESOME items, and music by Ray and the Ultraviolets! There are only a few tickets left, but you still have a chance to get in on the action!! Remember all proceeds go toward this amazing foundation!! Contact me, one of the Roc Solid members, or head to this website to get your tickets!!
Hope to see you there!
