Imagine what you could do with $8,800. Buy a little used car? Take a trip? Furnish an entire apartment…huh?! That’s right. A WHOLE apartment.
Mariner’s Green Apartments in Newport News desperately needed an update. With 40 days and less than 9 thousand dollars, I had a challenge on my hands. We sold everything in this apartment except for the queen size mattress and started from scratch. Using Wayfair, Joss & Main, Houzz, Homegoods, CB2, TJ, Ross, and At Home, I filled this space back up with more stylish furniture that would appeal to Mariner’s market (right by CNU) and accessories that accented the company’s branding (website below).
Here are some before and after pictures of the model unit! The living room before…
and after! Using a good mixture of textures…metal, wood, velvet…and colors, I think this space is the perfect balance of warm and cool.
Lots of pretty succulents, metallics, and even a studded whale. Who doesn’t love a studded whale!?
Here is the dining and kitchen area before.
and the after. I added a desk…honestly because it didn’t end up fitting in the guest bedroom…but I actually prefer it out in the living area. After all, I am sitting here typing to you while I watch my toddler play. In my living room.
The dining table and desk were both from CB2 and the dining accessories are from World Market and Homegoods.
Heading to the bedrooms, we start with the Master bedroom and bath before. The mattress is literally the only thing we kept in this whole apartment.
Here is the after…yes, that is a NAVY bedroom set!!
Finally, we move to the guest bedroom and bathroom.
Adding appropriately scaled furniture made a huuuuge difference in the bedroom.
And here is the guest bathroom after….
