SAVE THE DATE {Carly & Chris}

Carly and Chris are one of our October couples…and they have been absolutely amazing to work with.  Any crazy fun idea I have, they are completely game.  Just wait until you see their wedding venue and decor…you will die of sheer happiness.

I was lucky enough to be able to design their graphics, starting with the Save the Date magnet.  Carly sent me a very rough idea in publisher that was long and skinny and incorporated their pictures and the chevron pattern, so my first rough draft looked like this:

and I really wasn’t a fan…because there wasn’t enough depth to it SO, I decided to create a second option, something completely different:

but it wasn’t quite the direction they were hoping for, colors were a little off, etc.
{yes, I am aware the month is also wrong…….}

I asked Carly to send me some more inspiration Save the Dates, one of which was this design from Wedding Paper Divas:

I decided to try to combine the fun style of their wedding with the layout of this graphic while incorporating their pictures, a script font, chalkboard, and a (home-made) ombre chevron pattern.

and here’s a cell phone picture of it already proudly displayed on someone’s refrigerator…
