A couple weekends ago, I worked on a special Roc Solid Renovation in Virginia Beach for a little girl named Alexis. Back in September there was a build scheduled for her little sister Giovanna, but she tragically passed away from her fight with cancer only days before she was able to receive her playground. The Roc Solid Foundation team got together and decided that they would do a room renovation for Alexis in honor of Giovanna…because the ENTIRE family fought cancer and this family had been through the ringer.
As usual, the build started with some before pictures. This room was obviously a little girl’s dream come true at some point, but Alexis had grown out of the pink and purple.
In her new room design, she was very specific on color: Black, White, and Teal. So I took that and ran with it….ran all the way to Target, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Hobby Lobby, Home Depot, and Home Emporium to be exact. Here is the final product.
As usual, these Roc Solid kids deliver the best responses when they first see their rooms. How happy does she look?!
Here is a picture of the family when they arrived and all the amazing volunteers who worked on the build!
I want to give a big shout out to the Roc Solid Running team who raised money for this build, as well as Allfirst Industrial Contractors and Genesis Fiber Optics for helping make this build possible!!
