NORFOLK INTERIOR DESIGN {Short Home}

Long time, no talk (or write…whatever).  I have so many projects to update you guys on, but will obviously have to space them out.  The first of which is the home of Gary and Elizabeth Short in Norfolk.

The Short’s are good friends of my uncle’s.  They have impeccable taste and an adorable home in the Larchmont neighborhood. They recently decided to completely gut their outdated kitchen and downstairs bath (and I mean GUT…look at the pictures below!), so I stepped in to help.  I worked alongside Clark Development and kitchen designer, Amy Birdsong, to create the plans and check in throughout the demo/build-out process.  I hope you enjoy these awesome before and after pictures!

When asked about the house and their style, Elizabeth replied:

“Our design style is coastal casual”–my fave!– “We wanted to create a better flow in our house that was built in 1935 and create a space where all four of us could be together…I wanted to start to enjoy cooking for my family!!”

Although they had to live off a microwave in their garage all summer (the joys of renovating….) they are extremely happy with the way everything turned out (and so am I !!).  Check back next week…or let’s be honest, it may be two weeks…for another design project!  Adios <3

XOXO
