INTERIOR INSPIRATION {Wood Walls}

I have always loathed grainy wood walls, typically found in a house built circa 1970.  I think it’s because I grew up in such a house that had wood paneled walls and wood floors (like we were in a cave/living room) and then moved on to design yacht interiors.  Despite my apparent phobia, I am slowly beginning to accept {and even admire} a small amount of wood panelling…when used correctly.  So the question stands, when is a wood covered surface ok?

a rich dark wood wall without too much variation provides a luxurious warmth.

wood strips on the wall keep a white-walled, tall-ceiling space from looking too clinical and adds dimension to the ceiling.

when paired with cold concrete floors and PLENTY of natural light, the wall adds charming texture to the space.
