Heritage Model Update

As I promised last week, here is the blog featuring the Heritage model update. The Heritage at Settler’s Landing is located in downtown Hampton, steps away from Hampton University, the downtown waterfront, and the Virginia Air and Space Museum.

When we did our first walk through, I tried to make a mental list of all the items that I thought could potentially work in the new space. Pieces with good bones that just needed a little re-imagining. All the new items are from Homegoods, At Home, Houzz, Wayfair, Joss and Main, World Market, and Hobby Lobby!! All majorly accessible and fairly priced ;) They wanted the apartment to again reflect their market, younger college students, while still also appealing to the older professionals and families. I also tried to include their brand color as often as possible-hello BLUE.

Now sit back and enjoy the before and after pictures…

Entry/Kitchen/Dining B-E-F-O-R-E

And some after photos…I actually liked the barstools and the entry table was do-able, so those items stayed. I capped off that strange blue pendant light and replaced the dining room chandelier.

In the dining room, we moved the dining table off the wall making the dining space more realistic and defined.

Living Room B-E-F-O-R-E

I thought the entertainment console was a bit overwhelming for the space…and a little dated…so I replaced that with something more transitional. The sofa stayed but the pillows and new rug breathed fresh air into it. New artwork and more appropriately scaled accent furniture finished off the space.

Master Bedroom B-E-F-O-R-E

The master bedroom was dark and dated so I replaced everything but the bed frame and mattress.

Guest Bedroom B-E-F-O-R-E

The guest bedroom was probably the space that had the most identity issues…it wasn’t sure whether to be an office or a bedroom. I took out the gigantic oversized desk and the undersized chaise (bed…!?) and turned the space into more of a college student’s lounge.

These types of projects are so fun for me because I get to shop local stores and create real livable spaces…without having to get every item approved by the client living in the space!! I hope you enjoyed this apartment tour!
