EVA’S BIG GIRL BEDROOM TRANSITION

When I say that I dreaded the day we had to move Eva to a big girl bed, it would be an understatement. I wanted to keep her caged in her crib FOREVER, especially because she’s not the best sleeper. I have heard all the horror stories of waking up to a child staring at you-and I will be the first to say that I can only imagine how irrational my response would be. I am less than pleasant when woken up in the middle of the night…ask my husband. Anyway, the day came where she was literally getting too tall for the crib and I knew I had to make a move. On the day of Eva’s third birthday, I converted the room while her dad took her out hiking.

I wanted to keep the same surfer girl vibe in her new room so I aimed to just update the layout and a few pieces of furniture. I got rid of the rocking chair (actually haven’t yet….anyone interested?) and added book shelves for her INSANE love of books. A bean bag chair for reading. Some stuffed animal storage. Nothing too crazy, but she loves it! I did take out her bumpers for picture’s sake, but the little foam things that go under the sheets are kind of amazing.

Now since I know you’ve just been sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to see my child’s bedroom, here are a couple before pictures…

And the afters!

If you’ve made it this far and want to see the original post, here it is….though it’s a little invasive… #youbeenwarned
